Dr Lorna Gold is the Board Chair of the Laudato Sí Movement, the global network of Catholic organisations working for climate justice. She previously worked as CEO of FaithInvest, a UK- based NGO that supports faiths to invest their assets for the benefit of people and the planet.
Prior to her current role, she led Trócaire’s Policy, Research and Advocacy for almost two decades, until April 2020. She holds a PhD in Economic Geography from the University of Glasgow and was a member of the Vatican Commission on the post-COVID world taskforce on economy.
Her 2018 book Climate Generation – Awakening to our Children’s Future, re-published in 2023 by Beehive Books, was described by Canadian author and activist, Naomi Klein, as “an anguished journey into the heart of the climate crisis.” It tells her personal story of waking up to the reality of the ecological emergency as a parent, activist and person of faith.
