COVID-19 Support Line for Older People
ALONE manage a national support line and additional supports for older people who have concerns or are facing difficulties relating to the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Professional staff are available to answer queries and give advice and reassurance where necessary. The support line is open seven days a week, 8.00am – 8.00pm, by calling 0818 222 024.
A very well attended meeting took place in theCatherine McAuley centre, Baggot St. last Thursday evening. Those who attended were given a detailed introduction to the content of the Alpha course. It is expected that an Alpha course will commence in early October and be offered on Thursday evenings in theCatherine McAuley centre. It is planned that the meetings eachThursday will commence with soup/ sandwiches followed by a talk/ presentation on a specific theme which in turn will be followed by a small group discussion.
