 Dear Father Pat, 

For four Saturdays in August I am leading a literary walking tour around the Baggot Street area, in conjunction with Mick Quinn, landlord of the Waterloo pub.  We plan to include St. Mary’s Church on our itinerary with a short reading outside the church of the relevant passage about the church organ from James Joyce’s story, ‘The Dead’. I will also discuss ceremonies at the church involving Patrick Kavanagh and Brendan Behan.

 

I hope that you might be in a position to support this venture and would be very grateful if you could mention it in the parish bulletin or in any other way you think might be appropriate. I have attached a poster giving details of the walking tours.

 

This is a new cultural and educational initiative for the area which we are hoping to develop on a long-term basis, so I would very much appreciate your help.
